The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, West Bengal, organized an online 6-day AICTE-sponsored faculty development program from 16th to 21st December 2024 under the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy on Smart Computing and its Applications in Cyber Defense and Digital Forensic, in which around 200+ participants from different parts of the country participated. 13 esteemed speakers from industry and academia participated in the 6-day online FDP to share their knowledge on smart computing and its applications in cyber defense and digital forensics. There were six resource persons from academia, seven from industry, and three speakers from outside the country.

The inauguration was held on 16th December 2024 ina hybrid mode at 6:00 pm. Chief Guest of the program was Mr.Krishnagopal Mondal (Vice President, Coca-Cola plant, Raninagar, Siliguri, WB), Guest of Honour and Patron of the function was Dr. Amitava Ray (Honourable Principal, Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College). Dr. Subhas Barman, Coordinator of the FDP and Mrs. Jhuma Dutta, Co-coordinator jointly chaired the function. The faculty members from different departments of this college were also present with the participants. Dr. Subhas Barman welcomed the participants as well as resource persons and discussed the aim of the FDP. Dr. Amitava Ray, Principal of JGEC, addressed the participants about online FDP and mentioned various initiatives organized by this college's Dept of Computer Sc. and Engg.. Prof Jhuma Dutta, Co-Coordinator of the event proposed the Vote of Thanks. The inauguration program was concluded at 6:30 pm.

Participants : This online faculty development program includes faculty members, research scholars, industry professionals, and M.Tech. students were enrolled. A total of 226 participants from 85 colleges and universities across 62 districts in 15 states of our country participated in the program.
